Jesse and Lisa filled the role of opposites attract. Lisa is timid and shy and Jesse is all muscled, tattooed, Alpha male."Jesse turned around, looking directly at me with his warm green eyes and my breath got stuck in my throat - I had been caught. He smiled, a small one, tugging at one side of his mouth." - I love a lopsided smile!
"I looked at her lips, and considered how easy it would be to press my mouth to hers, taking her on the floor right here, smiling at each other the next day - sharing our little secret."
Taking Orders is written in first person - though it changes throughout the story from Lisa's point of view to Jesse's, which is interesting, but also can be somewhat confusing at times. Although I enjoyed this quick read, I would have liked to get to know the characters a little better. It seemed rushed at times, though that didn't deter me from fully enjoying it. I look forward to the next book that Tessa Milan releases!
